Course ID: 39104-RECE | 3 Hours CE Credit | Instructor: Meagan Campion | Farm and ranch transactions are some of the most complex deals in Texas real estate—and the TREC Farm & Ranch Contract (TREC 25-16) is very different from the standard residential contract. This 3-hour continuing education course provides a clear, practical breakdown of the TREC Farm & Ranch Contract, helping license holders confidently navigate the provisions unique to rural and land transactions. Participants will walk through the key paragraphs of the contract, including property descriptions, acreage considerations, surveys, title requirements, leases affecting the property, possession terms, and inspection provisions. The course also explores price adjustments based on surveys, mineral and surface considerations, and how to properly handle negotiations within the scope of real estate practice. Students will learn how to recognize when the Farm & Ranch Contract is the appropriate form to use and how to identify potential risk points that should be discussed with clients or referred to legal counsel. Designed with consumer protection and professional competency in mind, this course helps license holders avoid common mistakes, reduce liability, and provide more informed representation in farm, ranch, and rural property transactions. Participants will leave the course with increased confidence in reviewing contract provisions, communicating key terms to buyers and sellers, and managing the unique challenges that come with Texas land transactions.
